Welcome to 8across
Why 8across? Well the number eight laid across instead of upright looks like the symbol for infinity, and as all the good web addresses with infinity were taken, and nobody would know what Lemniscate (the correct name for the infinity symbol) is - or how it was spelt, 8across seems like a good compromise!
So why infinity? Well, it's what we should all be aiming for - not to live forever, I think the world would become mighty cramped if that happened, but to leave a mark on the world that will last forever.
"A butterfly flaps its wings and a tsunami happens in another part of the world" - not something we should joke about, but we should be aware that our actions, however small, have an impact on the world. If we make the right decisions our actions could have a positive impact for the whole world.
